01. Case Study
Amset Technical Consulting
From Reputable to Remarkable
The Situation
Amset Technical Consulting had been in business for over a decade. Their reputation for high-quality work in the insurance and engineering space was solid. But without a marketing leader at the helm, their public-facing image didn’t match the caliber of their expertise.
The Challenge
Amset was being outshined by competitors with stronger branding—Amset's website was outdated, their trade show booth was unfocused, and their marketing materials didn’t communicate who they were or what they stood for. Internally, they knew they were top-tier. Externally, the market wasn’t seeing it.
My Role
I was brought in to change that. I wrote a 60-page marketing plan that served as both vision and roadmap. From that plan, I:
-
Developed brand positioning and identity guidelines
-
Conceptualized and directed new marketing collateral, from brochures to booth design
-
Led the creation of a responsive, modern website
-
Reimagined how Amset showed up at trade shows—prioritizing clarity and professionalism
-
Found and secured timely PR opportunities
-
Created on-the-ground marketing content that humanized the brand
What Changed
The rebrand elevated Amset’s entire presence. Their new booth stood out at the industry’s flagship trade show, the PLRB Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo. Their new messaging and materials gave decision-makers a reason to stop, listen, and trust.
But the biggest shift? Their new marketing made them look like the company they had always been—only now the right people were noticing.
Rimkus Consulting Group, a global leader in engineering and technical consulting, took notice. In large part due to the elevated image and positioning crafted through my marketing plan, Amset attracted the attention of this major competitor.
The Result
Amset was acquired by Rimkus in a strategic move that significantly benefited the owners and marked a major milestone in the company’s story.
