The name Manager & Woo was born out of a moment of reflection while I worked as a Small Business Consultant for a local branch of the SBA’s Small Business Development Center.

During that time, I was asked to take the Clifton Strengths assessment. Interestingly, one of the traits was the word “Woo” — the trait known as “Winning Others Over.” The word sparked something creative in me.

I began thinking about the two sides every successful business needs: structure and strategy on one hand, energy and connection on the other.

“Manager” became the symbol of order — the serious, strategic backbone. “Woo” (a playful nod not to “woo woo” or mysticism, but to the spirited side of business) represented heart, creativity, and the human spark.

Together, Manager & Woo reflects the dual power of logic and levity — the straight man and the funny man, if you will. Just like in great comedic teams or great client relationships, it’s about timing, clarity, and the magic that happens when opposites collaborate.
